Yorkshire Bishops Transcripts
Bishop’s transcripts were abbreviated copies of the parish records sent to the Diocesan bishop several times a year. They can be an invaluable source of genealogical information when the original record has not survived. There are over 5 million records in the following collections.

Many of the following records are from parish register books which were printed in the early 1900s. The books are now available to view and search online. You can browse the pages of the books or search for names from within your browser.
